I don't have back pain, so why should I see a Chiropractor?
This is a question I hear all the time, and the answer is simple; Wellness and Prevention focusing on stress management!
It is true that a lot of people start their Chiropractic journey with neck or back pain (ie, a warning signal that there is dysfunction in the body); and Chiropractic excels at improving the function and alignment of the spine, hence reducing pain. However, if 2020 has taught us anything, in my opinion the best thing we can do is to be as healthy and as resilient as possible.
The demands of life from a standpoint of physical stress (ie. posture of sleep, work, and play), emotional stress, and chemical stress can definitely accumulate and manifest in the body if ignored. When our health is challenged to adapt to an overload of CHRONIC stress and tension, it drives our state of health further away from homeostasis and closer to a state of dysfunction.
The concept of managing your postural stress and tension, allowing your body to work more efficiently and closer to a state of homeostasis vs. a chronic state of stress and tension is why everyone should be under regular Chiropractic care. By resetting your posture and removing stress/tension from the spine and nervous system, you are helping your body get closer to homeostasis (ie. balanced) and further away from a CHRONIC state of stress overload.
I am a firm believer that consistency in regards to any aspect of your health is key. So somewhere between one adjustment a week to one adjustment a month minimum is essential in resetting your postural structure, removing stress and tension from your spine/nervous system, and allowing your body to function at its highest potential. The more we can achieve homeostasis and balance, the more resilient our health becomes and the more consistent you are going to feel great!
So that being said, you do not have to wait to throw your neck or back out or have major signs and symptoms in your health to see a Chiropractor. The mindset of Wellness and Prevention, specifically stress management, is a great reason on its own to start seeing a Chiropractor.
Chiropractic is an amazing tool to help improve your health and is pure in its form of natural and organic health care. I look forward to serving you and your health journey soon.
